Presented at Downtown Design as part of the UAE Designer Exhibition 0.6, Wasl is a multifunctional piece rooted in the concept of connection. Derived from the original name of Dubai, Wasl, meaning “connection” in Arabic, the piece reflects the city’s role as a cultural crossroads.

Crafted from naturally dyed palm leaves and detailed using khoos marquetry, the design bridges traditional Emirati craftsmanship with contemporary living. Through its materiality and form, Wasl embodies continuity — linking inherited knowledge with present-day design practices.
